HHS Touts Increased Transparency of Hospital Costs and How Data Security Is Improving Care

In advance of the electronic data/healthcare mega conference, Datapalooza (now in its fourth year), HHS released new statistics and issued new challenges promoting the effectiveness and impact of the new healthcare data standards. As part of release, HHS noted for the second time in a month, CMS has issued unprecedented data regarding typical costs for hospital procedures and how they vary across the country. This release involves thirty prevalent outpatient procedures.
