Jones Waldo attorney Michael Patrick O’Brien was recently successful in negotiating a records release agreement between the Granite, Jordan and Salt Lake City school districts and The Salt Lake Tribune.
Michael, head of the Jones Waldo media law practice group, invoked a research provision of the state’s Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) to make the case that birth dates of district employees are not private and protected and can be accessed by the Tribune for reporting purposes.
