Jones Waldo’s Insurance/Tort practice group has represented many clients in insurance coverage disputes involving commercial liability, environmental, professional liability and other kinds of policies. We have also defended claims brought against insurance companies and third-party claims administrators for administration and denial of insurance claims, including claims of insurance bad faith and "rogue" agents. The diverse insurance companies defended by this practice include property and casualty, life, health, and disability insurers.

Product Liability and Personal Injury Litigation

Timothy C. Houpt, Anthony Rampton, Mark J. Williams and Angus Edwards are seasoned trial lawyers with many years experience and hundreds of jury trial days behind them.  This practice of lawyers handles the products liability, personal injury, contract and real estate issues.  The practice has represented clients in a variety of product liability cases involving vehicles and industry equipment and has defended copyright infringement and Lanham Act claims on behalf of manufacturers and homebuilders.  The practice regularly defends liquor liability, real estate brokers and agents, and pharmacy and physician malpractice claims.  It also handles medium value litigation.

Jones Waldo has one of the most active construction law practices in the Intermountain West and is a major player in the construction litigation arena. More than twenty years ago, we entered the construction law area by representing Design Professional Insurance Corporation, defending architects and engineers charged with malpractice/negligence. During the last twenty years, our practice in that arena has grown to include cost overrun litigation and general representation of construction industry clients.

Craig R. Mariger, a 26-year practitioner, leads this practice. Craig is exceedingly well-versed in construction law and all aspects of the construction industry. He also created an innovative construction industry alternative dispute resolution system which utilizes industry experts to help avoid the normally enormous litigation expenses. Craig has written and lectured extensively in this area. He was Chair of the subcommittee to prepare construction case jury instructions.
