Jones Waldo Welcomes Richard Peter Stevens To Its Business Law Team
Jones Waldo today announced attorney Richard Peter “Pete” Stevens has joined the firm in the position “of counsel.” Stevens has particular expertise in title insurance mergers, acquisitions, and business entity creation and expansion, along with foreclosure, escrow and settlement services, government regulation and compliance, administrative law, and mediation.
Having spent the last eight years maintaining a specialty law practice, Stevens previously served as assistant commissioner for the State of Utah Insurance Department from 1999 to 2003. Stevens currently serves as judge pro tempore in Utah’s Third District Court and has held senior-level executive positions with national and regional title insurance underwriters.

Stevens received his juris doctor degree from the Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn., and his bachelor’s degree from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. He is active in the National Association of Insurance Commissioner and is licensed to practice in Utah and Washington.
