Jones Waldo Park City Partners with PCEF to fund Teacher Grant Program
Greg Cropper, Managing Partner of the Park City office of Jones Waldo announced that a partnership between the firm and the Park City Education Foundation will serve to fund the Teacher Grant Program in the Park City school districts.
According to Alex Natt, an attorney in the PC office, "we chose to partner with PCEF because the core values of the organization align with our own. We understand that strong public school are the foundation of a vibrant and healthy community and that excellence in teaching leads to excellence in learning."
The PCEF Teacher Grant Program provides teachers with the tools and resources needed to introduce new programs/ ideas into the classroom. Other program highlights include:
Supports innovation in the classroom by awarding financial grants to teachers to implement new innovative new ideas in their classrooms.
Past grants have supported programs such as ALEKS Math (a web-based math program), a robotics program for fifth graders, Math Libraries and leveled reading libraries.
PCEF has nearly doubled it’s pool of teacher grant award money over the last year. This year, with the help of Jones Waldo Park City, the organization will award over $40,000.
Grants have broad impact on Park City schools. Last year, grants were awarded to each of the seven schools in the PC school district and touched over 60% of the student body.
All teachers from the seven schools in the Park City School District are invited to apply. The application forms are available on the PCEF website at www.pcef4kids.org. The deadline is October 29, 2010.
